A Lesson on organizing creativity

February 2, 2012

Sadly, this year I did not have a chance to go to Alt but thanks to the blogosphere, I am able to check out all of the wonderful inspiration that was sucked up. Alessandra posted an excellent article on How to Organize all that creativity from her Alt experience. I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with all of you!

I love the thought of an “ideas club”. I have been wanting to start/find a group like that where creative entrepreneurs can come together a bounce ideas off each other, ask questions, etc. It’s always nice to have the support of other creative folks. I look forward to my weekly #omhg twitter chats (Thursdays at 1:00 pm EST – check it out!) but would like a “club” that exclusively promotes and stirs creativity…oh and accountability. I so need that!  Besides, doesn’t club just sound like a fun thing? Hmmmm…ideas are brewing!

oh my! get your website ready

January 20, 2012

As most of you may know, I write a monthly post for Oh My! Handmade Goodness. I absolutely love the community that Jessika has put together over there. It only seems fitting that since it is comprised of handmade business, I keep the business posts there. So that is what I have decided to do. I am going to make it a goal of mine to contribute several posts per month (if not more). No worries, I will make sure to post a little excerpt here so that everyone can keep up with the biz advice and stuff. :)

This month, I wrote a post on how to get your website ready for the new year. As you know, web design is a true passion of mine so to be able to share that is an awesome gift. Check it out here. You can also get a super handy checklist to help you get started!

Oh and there is a free web consultation at the end of the post. Since that was so popular, I decided to make it a regular thing. If you are interested, just click that little banner over on the right there and we can chat about your website. :)

eco-friendly shipping supplies

December 19, 2011

Since WRITE WITH MOXIE is all about eco-friendly products, I try and keep all of the packaging/shipping recycled and eco-friendly too. Normally, this can be quite an expense because as we all know, recycled most of the time means pricey…yep, it sucks! Recently, I was looking for a more economical way to ship orders so that I wouldn’t have to raise prices. That is when I came across EcoEnclose. I originally found them on Etsy but have since started using their website. (I feel the pain of Etsy fees so I try and do this as much as possible.) All of their shipping supplies are 100% recycled and/or biodegradable. They are also very reasonably priced! Right now, their product line includes cardboard mailers, poly-mailers, bubble mailers and boxes. Oh and they even have eco-friendly sealing tape!

Because their prices are so good, this gives me a great way to integrate our eco-friendly philosophy into all facets of the business. If you are looking for a great alternative to the standard shipping supplies, check out EcoEnclose. Right now, they are having a 20% off sale on everything so it would be a great chance to stock up!
