Well, my baby has gotten another year older and while I wish I could keep her a baby forever, I love seeing what a big girl she is growing up to be. This year I thought I would take the easy way out and hired a company to do all of the decorations and entertainment. The only thing I had to do was the food and goodie bags. Yeah, right it is never that easy is it? Of course, I had to put my spin on everything and made table signs for all of the food. And with the food, I kinda went all out snack crazy so I ended up being awake until 2:oo am the morning of the party. The Baconator ended up helping the party person set up most of the big stuff because they were short staffed so we didn’t get to sit out and observe quite like we planned. I think next year, I will be keeping things smaller and just do it all myself. But hey, you live and you learn right? In the end, the kids all had a blast and the birthday girl loved it. That’s all that matters. Ok, on to the photos!

Chocolate covered marshmallows using my pencils as the sticks!

Super sweet goodie bags. I am going to put together a whole post for these. :)

Yummy yummy cupcake push pops!

Chocolate drizzled popcorn!

Face painting fun!

Even Pawpaw got in on the fun…yes, he looks super creepy I know. In real life, he is a great guy! ;)

Balloon animals!

Games! (Yes, that is The Baconator laying Gia out trying to win…for the record he felt bad later).

It was all about the Birthday Girl aka Pink Tiger.

Every year we head to a local farm for the Fall corn maze, some yummy fried foods and to pick our pumpkins. This year Xander was too cool to come with us (uggh teenage years) so it was just the three of us. We still had a blast though!

I love Gia’s face in that last photo…about 3 second after that The Baconator came to the rescue. That was one heavy pumpkin!

I was browsing through some of the new exhibitions at paper n stitch when I came across this beautiful pendent by maureen mae. What really caught my eye was her product photography….it is absolutely fabulous and shows that you don’t have to go fancy with photos to make a great impression. A nice, clean bright shot will win over customers every time!

Since I love design so much I thought I would do a little feature every now and then when something out of the ordinary really catches my eye. It could be a business, online shop, magazine, etc….just something that tickles my design fancy. :) I actually wrote this post as an article to an online magazine which unfortunately didn’t get off of the ground. No worries though, you guys can enjoy a little eye candy on me.

Nestled 30 miles south of Atlanta in the small sustainable neighborhood of Serenbe, The Blue Eyed Daisy bakeshop stands out as a mix of modern and vintage…a modern day Mayberry if you will.
The Blue Eyed Daisy’s branding shows up even before you walk in the door. Their retro inspired logo is painted on the brick facade amid the distressed blue tables that line the front of the bakeshop.
When you enter through the large old wooden doors, you are transported back to a simpler time. Vintage touches of mismatched tables and unfinished wood shelves meet the clean lines of the oversized cabinet behind the counter, where the menu and daily specials are written out in chalk. Colorful candy filled tins sit on top of the sleek, chrome bakery cooler that displays all sorts of wonderful treats.

The logo shows up on everything from the menu to the sign you get when you are waiting for your order to be delivered to your table.
Although their website is only a few pages, it keeps with the entire look of the shop. A little vintage and a little modern…The Blue Eyed Daisy knows what their brand is and keeps true to it in everything they do.
If you are in the Atlanta are and haven’t taken a trip down to Serenbe, it is completely worth the drive!
