Sorry for the absence for the last 2 weeks. It has been a bit crazy…more than the normal crazy! You see Moxie Pear is undergoing some changes baby and these are good ones. We are moving to a bigger office on the third floor of a beautiful new building (floor to ceiling windows kind of beautiful). Over the last 6 months, our little office has become quite cramped with me and Amanda as well as Write With Moxie. In the new space, we can spread out and up with lots of new ideas I have to help even more handmade & creative businesses. We are also going to be growing Write With Moxie to include wholesale in the very near future.
All of this kinda came about in a weird sort of cosmic way, which I will explain more in depth in a longer post very soon. We will be moving the office over the next week so it may be a bit quiet here. Stick with us though because good things are coming!
In the meantime, I thought I would post the next episode of Gianna’s Craft Wonderland. Hope you enjoy!
So I am finally getting a chance to officially introduce Amanda! I have to say that deciding to hire her was one of the best business decisions I have ever made. I am definitely an “I can do it myself” type of person so letting go of tasks was difficult at first but so worth it in the end. Just the stress relief from the email alone is worth it! She can vouch for how much email I receive everyday! ;) Without further ado, here is a little more about Amanda in her own words…
Hi! I’m Amanda, and I’m a Graphic Design student at Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin, GA (Griffin Tech to the locals). I have always been a very creative person, just ask anyone who knows me! I decided to take on a degree in graphic design because I love to draw, and as a graphic designer I knew I could merge my creativity with a career that I would love, and one that would maybe someday lead me to my ultimate career goal – game design.
That’s right, I’m a total nerd! Growing up I played some really great computer games—and still do— as well as console games (Zelda or Final Fantasy, anyone?), and it inspired me to create my own computer game. It’s still in the concept phase, but I hope to see it published one day. Because I can never sit still (anyone who knows me will tell you that, too!) I have opened a shop on Etsy to sell my other creations. I have a line of decorated bottles I am currently selling but have recently launched a decorated candle line that I’m really excited about!
As for my job, I have enjoyed working with Lisa so far. She is an amazingly talented designer and we have a lot of fun around the office. I’m also thankful she chose my crazy self to work for her!
I am a bit behind on actually showing you guys what I work on every day of my life. ;) I recently did a website design for Holly Christine. I did her original logo design last year and I am so glad she came back to me when she was ready for a full fledged website. I definitely used a lot of the whimsy and hand drawn elements that she has in her art…it completely inspired me. :)
If you are looking for a unique gift for just about anyone, you definitely have to check out her website. Thanks Holly, it was a pleasure getting to work with you again!
Yep, it’s back to the grind and Amanda and I are hard at work trying to play catch up from last week but I wanted to let you know about a cool post. The lovely and talented Bridgett of Perideau Designs recently interviewed me about my business. Take a moment to check it out and comment if you feel so inclined. :)
Hi There! I'm Lisa Bacon (yep, like bacon and eggs). I am coming up with a new way to help the small businesses I love so much succeed. Stay tuned for all of the changes and details!
