I did get my To Do list pretty caught up but we didn’t get the chance to go to L.A. The Baconator was so disappointed (as was I) but we just couldn’t make the flights and timing work. I was able to get something else that I have been wanting for a long time! For those that follow me on Twitter and FB then you probably already know but if not…it is a tattoo. It is actually my 4th one but definitely the largest and most detailed. For everyone out there who doesn’t have any tattoos you may be wondering if it hurts…in two words Hell Yes! I have to say that this one was pretty painful but definitely worth it since I will have it forever. It took about 3 hours to complete and the artist (Jeremy from Karmic Tattoo) was totally awesome to work with. It turned out exactly how I wanted. So you wanna see?

Ain’t it purty? The Baconator is so funny because now he wants another one too (copycat!).

So do you have any plans for the long weekend? I have serious plans to sit my butt on the couch and do absolutely nothing. Well, I may actually work on some of the upcoming things I have planned for the blog and my website. I think everyone who reads and owns (or is thinking of starting) a business is really going to love what’s in store. I thought I was going to be able to debut some of them September 1st but it just didn’t work…not enough time to get all of my thoughts worked out. Plus we are going to Disney World on Fall break (less than a week, can you believe it’s almost Fall?) so I didn’t want to break things up I had planned. The Baconator and I bought our costumes while we were out today for Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween…we are going as nerds. It is going to be great! We still have the get the costumes for the kids so I may roll off the couch for that this weekend. Hope everyone has a good one!

As always, I have about 50 things going on at one time and since I was down for a few days last week I am a bit behind on about 49 of those things. I know next week is going to be crazy and I may not be blogging much. The Baconator and I are taking a quick trip out to L.A. at the end of the week so I have to get caught up with everything before we leave. It is a sudden thing but very cool and I will clue you in on it soon (don’t you hate it when people say that?). The Baconator can’t wait to go back to CA so he is super excited. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am still in my pj’s so I would say that I am doing pretty good. Here’s hoping for a pj Sunday (with pancakes and bacon).

Sorry for the lack of posts…I do so good and then something happens (that’s life though I suppose). This week I am battling my thyroid so things have been a little off health wise. I was doing so good there for awhile with acupuncture but then stopped going and and in the last week I am starting to feel the downhill slide. I did get through 3 months so that’s not too bad…I just know I can’t wait that long again so I went this morning and it was awesome. How could being stuck with 12 needles actually feel relaxing? I have no clue but it totally does. My dr. said that my hormones were all out of whack (which makes sense because the thyroid is all about the hormones) so I need to go back Friday to get another dose. After my session I went back to the office but was so tired that I headed home and crashed out for like 4 hours. I probably could have slept through the night if The Baconator hadn’t come home. I still feel crazy tired so I think I am going to chill out at home tomorrow after I drop the kids off at school.

Oh and I have some really cool things coming to the blog over the next month. I actually hope to start in September (if I can get everything organized and ready to go). More info soon! Off to watch two episodes of the Gilmore Girls then to bed.

On Saturday, we cleaned out and rearranged the toy room (aka my old home office). Everyone now has their own little space to keep clean. Of course, Gia is the worst…that girl can make a mess in 2.5 seconds, then refuses to clean it up. We are working on that though.

Today I got a chance to sit down (in my new craft space) and finish my inspiration book. I love the idea of having an inspiration board but it’s just not feasible because I need something I can carry around with me from the office and home. I have really been inspired recently by interior spaces…I have a slight obsession with DIY and interior design magazines. I thought it would be nice to put them all in a book that I can flip through when I am feeling a bit uninspired. I happen to have two notebooks so I gave one to Gia so she could join me. She loves when we do “craft projects” together.

I just took white cardstock and glued all of the things I had previously cut out onto each one and put them in sheet protectors. Then I took a plain recycled binder and covered it with fabric using a tacking spray. Unfortunately, I ran out of spray so we had to improvise with Gia’s – she ended up just using my crayons to color all over it and it turned out great.

I didn’t get any photos of Gia’s book, I think she got bored after the first page and gave up on the inside. I decided that I am going to use it to put her artwork from school in.

As most of your know I have an serious affinity for cupcakes. On Friday, we decided to run to Whole Foods and grab some groceries while the kids were in school. On our way home we stopped at CamiCakes Cupcakes to see what sorts of goodies they have. My ears perk up every time I see a store front with the word cupcakes in it and since going to Whole Foods, I have seen that sign a few times.

I have to say that the store was a little warm but the overall look was very pretty. The designer in me had to look at the logo and branding, which was consistent and nice. The cupcakes (which is what really counts) were yummy. We got a chocolate banana, red velvet, chocolate chocolate, their original, mint chocolate chip and lemon. Their cake was very good and more like a pound cake consistently which I love. All in all I think we are going to make stopping there a weekly occurrence when we make the trek up to Whole Foods.

Anyone know of any other cupcakeries in the Buckhead area?

I have had it since 2008 and the poor thing was just about out of hard drive space. Yes, I could have upped my space but PeachMac offers a trade in program so I thought what the hell, I will check it out. It took them about 2 hours to test it and to my surprise it came out pretty good. They gave me a more than decent price and so I thought (with a nudge from The Baconator) I would go for it since it is an investment in my business. They also throw in the transfer of all my information for free. I have to say I am pretty psyched about it…the screen is just as pretty as my display (although not near as big) and I am loving editing photos and working on it.

Oh and I also have some cool news and venture coming soon so stay tuned for the announcement. I am going to try and get all of the final touches by Monday (if not sooner) so hopefully I will be able to share soon!

So the party was a success and I have to admit it was pretty fun to plan. It just sucks that I can’t do a pool birthday party for either of my munchkins (Feb & Nov birthdays). I only have one sibling…my little sister who has three boys. Since she has been living in Alabama for the last few years and I hardly ever get to see my nephews. The oldest, Blake (aka Blakers to me) has the same birthday as my Mom and it just so happened that with school starting back and my sister getting a new job on the weekends we had to do 2 parties for him…one here and then she did one there. Of course, me being me I had to come up with a theme for the cupcakes and such and when my Mom mentioned that he was all into wrestling I thought “hmm ok I can do this!”.

For the cupcake toppers, I printed and cut out all of his favorite wrestlers and glued toothpicks on the back. I didn’t have time to make the cupcakes so I went to a local bakery near my office (if you follow me on Twitter, you know which one I mean). They did an awesome job and the cupcakes tasted yummy. I opted for red and white icing with black liners to match the WWE logo.

I went simple on the decorations..red, white and black balloons and then matching plates, napkins and cups. I knew most of the time the kids would be in the pool, that was the crowd pleaser anyway. If you know me then you know I am deathly afraid of rubber balloons…mylars I can handle but something about the anticipation of those rubber balloons pooping scares the beegeez out of me! Since The Baconator was stuck in traffic I decided to brave it and carefully stuffed 3 bunches into the backseat of my Jeep. I was driving about two miles an hour all the way home, it was almost ridiculous but I made it!

And onto the photos…

Blakers enjoying the pool!

Pawpaw with the littlest ones (Memphis & Tristan).

Gia is such a crazy nut in the pool, she runs around screaming “Cannonball!” and then jumps in. She can’t swim yet but that little floaty bathing suit keeps her above water pretty good. I love this set of shots.

You may have noticed a few updates on the blog. I sat down here tonight and sketched out everything so it is all updated. I still need to play around with the biz and indie section. I have been looking around other blogs trying to figure out the best way to do it. I want to be able to showcase indie shops because I think it is so important. I don’t really want to have paid sponsors (I know you are asking yourself..WTF Lisa?). Call me crazy but I want to be able to provide people a free place to advertise.

Got LOADS of photos to post this weekend so watch for those. I know we are going to be in the pool for most of the day tomorrow since Xander’s BFF Deione is spending the night. He recently moved out of the neighborhood so they are spending some serious boy bonding time (and apparently that includes swimming). It sucks that he moved because they have been BFF’s for like 3 years. Hopefully they will be moving back soon. At least they are still in one class together at school. Can you tell I am in random talk mood? It is so late I am almost delirious so before I start making absolutely no sense I am hitting the hay!
